Post Traumatic Muscle Spasm and Pain by Andy

I am a 46-year-old white male. Twenty years ago I had an accident at work in which my left arm was trapped under a boom arm weighing several thousand pounds and crushed. My bicep was severely torn, and I lost a couple of fingers.  I have very little feeling in my hand and forearm.  It always feels as though I have slept on it for a couple of hours.  I also have chronic muscle spasms that get very aggressive and at times painful. Marijuana seems to be about the only thing that stops the spasms and dulls the numb tingly creepy feeling.  When this first occurred I was given many different combinations of muscle relaxants, antidepressants and painkillers, including oxycodone, hydrocodone, and a lot of minor ones I won't mention.  None of them controlled the tingling and the itching numbness near the surface of the skin). I use a little marijuana every few days, and the effect seems to last about 72 hours. I am at a loss to explain this, but my MD says that the active ingredient in marijuana has a very significant impact on the nerves and the nerve conduction pathways. He said it's only beginning to be understood.

You all know the deal; I won't buy on the street. I really would not like to contribute to a criminal enterprise, but living in NY State, what choice do I have?  A few years ago I could grow a small amount that would keep me supplied all year. My new property does not allow me the freedom to do that.

If I ever got into trouble with the law, I would claim medical use and back it up with friends, relatives and my personal MD. I would probably still get fined and have a criminal record. To me it's worth the relief I get.
