Psoriasis by Neil Pottenger

At the age of five I suffered from a major out break of psoriasis.  At the time not much was known about the skin disorder. I had to travel from Kent to a specialist in London every few months and nothing really seemed to work. But when I turned 13 I discovered cannabis and after a while my skin started to clear up. At first I put this down to the sun, as I worked part time on the markets outdoors, but when I was 15 I was forced to quit smoking because my parents found out about "my dirty habit". Not long after that we moved to Wales, where I became friends with a group of cannabis users, and after a short while my skin started to clear up again. I know that I have this condition for life, and all of the creams the doctors prescribed to me only work for a short period of time and then my skin starts to fight back. So I stopped going to the doctors for medical help. Over a period of 10 years I have come to the conclusion that cannabis is the best thing for my skin. I don’t suffer from stress and I know that that is the main cause of psoriasis. Smoking cannabis not only calms my mind but it also calms my body. Over the past couple of months it has become hard for me to acquire cannabis, and guess what? Yep--- my skin has flared up worse than ever. This is a medicine that should be legally available for all sorts of medical reasons.  Because cannabis affects the mind in a calming way which in turn calms the body, it is more than just a painkiller.
