Acute Pain by Chris Ubdegrove

A few years back, my wife and I were enjoying a night out at the local bar. When we decided I had drunk enough, we decided to go home. When we were leaving, I fell on the ice and ended up breaking my jaw. After getting all wired up at the hospital, they sent me home with a drug called Demerol.

Well, these pills were great for the first couple of days, but as I started to heal a bit (or get used to it), I found that these pills were far too powerful for what I needed.

A friend stopped by and rolled up a joint of pot. It was the best thing I could have done. I didn't need a lot, but it stopped all the tension I was feeling and really helped me deal with the lack of solid food (I was reduced to a liquid diet).

Anyway, I am not a regular pot smoker, but I don't mind telling you that if it wasn't for my friend bringing me some that day, I believe my recovery would have been a lot worse than it was.
